When is online key cutting useful?

Our online key cutting facility will be useful to you:

if you are nowhere near a key cutting shop
if you have many keys to make or duplicate
if you have high security or specialist keys which need duplicating
or if you simply don't have the time or inclination to wait around in a key cutter's shop.

Key cutting does take time if it's done properly. Traditional key cutting, shop-based, will thus involve a lot of waiting and possibly more than one trip to the shop.

Our online facility takes all the aggravation out of the key cutting process. Order your keys by email, fax or snail mail and then relax. Your keys will come to you in the morning post!

What are the categories of key cutting?

The 3 most common categories of key cutting that we provide for are:

1) You have lost a key or need additional keys

Suitable for keys such as:

desk keys
locker keys
pedestal keys
postbox keys
drawer keys
garage door keys

This type of lock frequently has the number stamped on the face of the lock. If you know the number of the lock you can obtain new keys online using the order form below.

Take the number from the front of the lock and enter it into the key cutting online enquiry/order form (include all prefixes and brand names). Don't forget to include your phone number so that we can contact you if necessary.

2) High security keys

Features include:

stamped with a number or series of letters
you found that regular key-cutters cannot duplicate them or cut them to code
these keys can be part of a master key system

The copy-protection of high security keys works mainly through restriction of the availability of the key blank. Your local key-cutter does not have the required blank and therefore cannot duplicate your key. There may additionally be an issue with patent protection.

Complete the key cutting online enquiry/order form and our online service will, in most cases, be able to arrange for the duplication of the keys by liaising with the manufacturer, or with whoever else is in control of the key blanks. We are likely to ask for a letter of authority of some kind to allow us to order the keys on your behalf. In the rare event of us not being able to help you directly, we can usually point you in the direction of who will be able to make the keys for you.

3) Evva High security keys

Features include:

most Evva keys have a number on them - Evva locks and keys are our speciality
the top ranged ones have "Evva DPS" stamped on one side, and "235D", followed by a 4-digit number on the other
you found that regular key cutters cannot duplicate them or cut them to code
these keys can be part of a master key system

Most Evva keys are strictly signature protected, new keys can only be released to companies or individuals able to prove they are entitled to obtain copy keys.

The locks that these Evva DPS keys with the 235D stamp relate to are high security drill- and pick-resistant locks, they are unbeatable in terms of reducing the risk of your keys being illicitly copied by staff, visitors, workmen or whoever else.
