At Metrolocks, on top of cutting the country’s keys, we now run a nationwide service for copying your electronic access fobs, tokens and cards!
WHAT FOBS CAN WE COPY?
Below is a list of the most common fobs out there that we can copy. (N.B. We can’t clone Paxton products.) If your fob isn’t on the list, then email us a photo and we’ll let you know if we can copy it!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It’s easy! Just mail us your fob and we’ll clone it for you, then post it back. If you’re based in London, you can even pay us a visit in our Tottenham head office.
If you have any queries, just ring us on 020 7608 0809 or send us an email and we will advise you.
CLONING vs PROGRAMMING
A programmed fob is a fob that is loaded onto a fob reader system and has a unique electronic ID number. This fob’s ID number can be deprogrammed by the system manager. Any fob that isn’t programmed won’t work on the system.
A cloned fob, on the other hand, does what it says on the tin. It is an exact duplicate of the original programmed fob, and has the same ID number on the electronic system. This means that, if the original fob is ever deprogrammed, all clones will no longer work, either.
IS IT OK TO CLONE A FOB?
Cloning an RFID fob is much like copying a standard key: there’s not necessarily anything wrong with it. However, if you’re unsure, we recommend consulting your building manager before getting a clone.
